About my teaching
Honouring the Tradition. Honouring the Student. Non-judgement. Non-expectation
I practice and teach Ashtanga Yoga and was certified to teach by John Scott, one of the worlds most respected Ashtanga yoga teachers. I honour the rich tradition of yoga as taught in the Ashtanga lineage and teach true to the tradition.
This beautiful, energetic sequence combines movements that build flexibility, strength, balance and cardiovascular health.
Most importantly though it’s a moving meditation....
We synchronise our movements with the breath so that the practice really is a dance to the rhythm of the breath.
We play with gravity and really breathe into all areas of our body.
We work every muscle across all planes of movement.
We reconnect with the joy of movement and feeling truly alive!
I emphasise practice without judgement, expectation or attachment.
There’s so much unhealthy judgement, story, expectation and attachment in life but by practicing yoga with me in this way with this focus we can overcome it, we can start to practice life without judgement, expectation and attachment.
I also focus a lot on opening the heart and practicing with effort without tension, and ease without laziness. Also great lessons for life!
Finally, I keep my classes small, so that I can provide individual support to every student.
